The make and model of your vehicle, along with the year of manufacture, are the three most important factors in determining your car's value, which in turn is the main factor in determining your insurance premium. Your own personal driving history, age, marital status, credit score, type of vehicle, coverage levels, and other personal factors are also important components of your rate.
Many driver discounts are available to people through most major auto insurers, such as
Student discounts

Alfa Romeo is an Italian car manufacturer known primarily for its stylish vehicles. Alfa Romeo decided to exit the U.S. market in 1995 due to the heavy losses and the fact that stricter emissions standards were about to affect America. Alfa Romeo was not prepared to meet them without considerable investment.
In 2008, the car manufacturer returned to the U.S. market after a more than ten-year hiatus, primarily driven by a change in strategy from new ownership. In 2007, Fiat-Chrysler, another Italian brand, purchased Alfa Romeo, and in 2021, it became part of the French-owned Stellantis. Since entering the U.S. market, the Alfa Romeo Giulia has been named "Top Safety Pick+" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Alfa Romeos are considered a niche vehicle in the U.S. Though they have gained popularity since their re-entry into America, they are still nowhere near as popular as the major car brands. While many drivers enjoy having a unique, relatively uncommon vehicle, this usually means higher insurance rates for the driver. This is for various reasons, but generally, you can think of the same factors that make a Honda or a Toyota inexpensive to insure are the same factors that make Alfa Romeos expensive. Few qualified technicians and replacement parts are not as readily available, resulting in higher repair costs for these vehicles in an auto accident.
Another critical factor to consider is that Alfa Romeos depreciate very rapidly, substantially affecting its insurance rates. As your car value reduces every year, your insurance premium could go down with each renewal. On the other hand, in many cases, you will need new replacement parts in the event of a repair, which rarely goes down in price. This can put you in a difficult position since many insurance companies will subtract depreciation from the amount paid for your claim, which could present a situation where your claim payout doesn't fully cover your repair costs.
