Kentucky Car Insurance Minimum Requirements, a Detailed Comparison for Drivers to Find the Cheapest Quotes, Plus Best Insurer Overall

Kentucky is a “no-fault” state to help keep the price of insurance costs as low as practical and to minimize court actions that drivers file each year.

Therefore the state of Kentucky has passed a no-fault policy for its residents.

Since the state is no-fault drivers are required to get Personal Injury Protection to covers things like lost wages, funeral and medical expenses and without reference to the driver who is “at-fault”.

No Fault Restrictions

Just like other no-fault states there are restrictions to the policy in place with the state of Kentucky throughout Louisville, Lexington, and Covington.

For example, if the damages from an accident surpass a certain limit the driver who is at-fault could be held responsible for the damages.

Normally, if the costs surpassed $10,000 then the restrictions are lifted and the other driver at-fault can be taken to court.

Lowest prices for a policy for a 25 year old driver.

Under the no-fault system in Kentucky the driver of the automobile and the passengers will register a claim with the auto insurance corporation that insures the vehicle they were driving.

In some instances, the driver will have a difficult time to sue the other driver if the elect to participate in the no-fault system.

The good part is they will not need to wait on the auto insurance company to determine who is at fault before the driver(s) have to pay for their own medical costs. PIP will cover this for them.
