Downloading the RightTrack app on your smartphone will allow Liberty Mutual to observe driving habits and behaviors, rewarding you for the safe choices you’re making on the road. Some behaviors observed by RightTrack include braking, acceleration, nighttime driving, and how many miles you drive.

How can I enroll in the RightTrack program?
You can join and participate in the RightTrack program in six easy steps.
- Enroll in RightTrack when you join Liberty Mutual.
- Follow the instructions in your welcome email to get started.
- Download the Liberty Mutual RightTrack app. Try to have all the drivers on your policy to download the app as well.
- Forward the activation codes to other participating drivers on your policy.
- Drive for 90 days, tracking your trips and savings in the app.
- Liberty Mutual will confirm your discount and apply it to your premium and you will begin to see savings between 5% and 30% on your policy.
Different RightTrack Programs
RightTrack Mobile (Liberty Mutual App) and RightTrack Mobile are both the same. The customer will download the app via his or her smartphone and driving movements will be tracked through the smartphone.
RightTrack Plug-In (NY Only): You will be given a small device that observes your driving habits. The device will allow the company to track the same driving habits and behaviors that they track if you were to use your smartphone. The device is compatible with most vehicles model years 1996 and newer. If your device stops working, unplug it and contact support at 1-866-274-0892.
All discounts, rewards, and miles driven can be tracked through your ‘My RightTrack’ portal. It can take up to 24 hours for your latest driving information to appear in the portal.
How does it work?
Data collected can be used in connection with any insurance claim, including for purposes of reporting, investigating, and adjusting such claims. Liberty Mutual reserves the right to collect data as long as the technology is in use. Data collected will not affect either auto insurance policy cancellation or nonrenewal.
Liberty Mutual uses the data that it collects from your smartphone or small device as the law permits. The company uses the data they collect for the following purposes:
- Adjusting your auto insurance premium
- Servicing your policy
- Providing services related to RightTrack
- Developing rate or premium information

RightTrack FAQs
1. Is there a cost associated with the device or program?
The RightTrack program is free to enroll in and participate in.
2. Can I opt-out of the program before completing the review period?
Opt-out of the program at any time by contacting your Liberty Mutual agent or calling 1-866-274-0892. You will lose your initial discount, and you will not be eligible for any other RightTrack discounts. Your coverage will not be impacted.
3. How soon do I have to begin the review period after I enroll?
Plugin your device within 30-days of receiving it. If you have multiple vehicles enrolled in RightTrack, you will receive an enrollment email for each participating vehicle.
4. Which driving behaviors does RightTrack observe?
RightTrack will observe total miles driven, nighttime driving, braking, and acceleration.
5. Can I transfer the premium discount when I change my vehicle?
If you change an enrolled vehicle after you complete your review period, Liberty Mutual will apply any premium adjustment to the replacement vehicle as long as the replacement vehicle is added to the policy within 60 days of the originally enrolled vehicle’s removal. If you need to change your vehicle during the review period, contact your local Liberty Mutual office or call 1-866-274-0892.
6. What if I do not drive my vehicle every day?
Even if you do not drive your vehicle every day, you will remain eligible as long as the RightTrack device is installed in your enrolled vehicle for the full 90-day review period.
7. What if my vehicle is stolen or involved in an accident?
If your vehicle was involved in an accident, follow all normal procedures for handling such an emergency and then contact a Liberty Mutual claims representative as soon as possible. If you need to replace your RightTrack device – or even your vehicle – call your local Liberty Mutual agent.
8. How do I know if the plug-in device has been installed properly?
Once your RightTrack device has been installed, you should see blinking lights on the device. This will confirm a successful installation. You will receive an email within 48 hours of your first trip, confirming that your device has been activated.
9. Should I remove the device when another driver uses my vehicle?
No. The device should remain plugged in your vehicle throughout the entire review period.
