New York Car Insurance Minimum Requirements & Cheapest Insurers by Price for the Most Savings

New York is a no-fault state which is a policy to help keep the costs of insurance to a minimum and reduce the amount of car-related court litigation filed yearly.

Since New York is a no-fault state all motorist are going to need Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage which covers losses of wages, any death benefits, and medical expenses without regard to who is “at-fault” during the accident.

The set minimum limits for New York is 25,000/50,000/10,000 for bodily injury liability and property damage liability which are as follows.

Who has the Cheapest Auto Insurance in New York?

Below is a table list of the cheapest insurers from 25 to 55 years of age.

When I conducted my study and queried for quotes then least expensive insurer is USAA.

If you are not able to get USAA coverage then the next best is Erie, Carmoon Group, then New York Central Mutual.

Progressive, Travelers, and GEICO are competitive. However, in today’s competitive market getting quotes from smaller firms such as Carmoon Group and NY Central Mutual is a good idea.

When I did my queries for quotes with a driver with a traffic violation the smaller companies become substantially more expensive.

You may want to take this into consider when you are comparing quotes. If you have poor driving history some of the firms in the list will give you a much higher quote than want I was able to retrieve from them.
