Getting the best bang for your buck isn’t always easy when it comes to coverage for your vehicle.
While most customers look for the cheapest price when making their decision, paying next-to-nothing does little to benefit the customer if the claims process is a nightmare.
Fortunately, there’s a company that offers main-street-level prices for wall-street-level service. That company is Good2Go Car Insurance. I will use G2G for short during parts of the article.
Note: As illustrated, top carriers quotes are compared with Good2go’s quote for a 20 y/o driver. Progressive’s quote of $2,654 is 19% lower while Mercury (the highest) is 5% lower than the quote of $3,243.
They were founded in 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia and backed by the equity company Inverness Partners II LP and their parent American Independent Companies, Inc. (AII)
Inverness Partners and AII have over 25 years of experience in the industry giving Good2Go serious credibility.
Here are their financial ratings:
AM Best Financial Rating A+
Moody's Financial Rating A3
Standard & Poor's Financial Rating A-2
Good Service with Affordable Rates
While many of the well-known car insurance providers rely on their name to lure customers, Good2Go prides itself in providing best-in-class service without breaking the bank.
Good2Go offers coverage for as little as $29/month, making it one of the most affordable providers on the market.
As illustrated, the cheapest quote for a 30 year old driver is Progressive at $1,458 which is 16% lower than $1,722. The highest, Mercury’s quote at $1,698 is 3% lower than Good2go’s quote of $1,722. All insurers range from 3% to 16% lower.
Filing a claim with Good2Go is incredibly easy as well.
They are able to underwrite policies through the following companies too: Omni Indemnity, Titan, The General, Progressive, and Infinity. You can check it out here if you like.
How do they Stack Up Compared to Top Level Companies
Below I have prepared a list of the top companies compared with drivers from 20 to 45 years of age.
I decided to leave out older drivers since the target market for Good2go (G2G) seems to be the younger crowd. Or drivers 40 and younger.
With all of the providers they are 15% to 30% higher. With some of the insurers, such as Mercury or Safe Auto they are comparable.
Note: Each of the insurers illustrated above are 9% to 29% lower than the quote when I queried for a 35 year old driver. Progressive’s is 29% lower while Safe Auto’s quote is 9% lower of $1,576.
Here is the caveat, with drivers 35 years of age and up the top insurers are much cheaper. Some are nearly 40%. It appears that G2G drops down in competitiveness as the driver ages.
The other item which stands out is the consumer rating. It is only 3.4 for G2G while for the top competitors is always above.
So I decided to do some research on this. Here is the deal. G2G has been around for a bit, but compared to the top insurers they are young (newer) company.
With most younger companies the consumer satisfaction is normally below 4.0 for all of them. Since claims process takes more time to “iron out” for newer companies trying to break into the market.
I am not trying to make an excuse for them, but it would be shocking to see a new (or newer) company with 4.5 consumer rating.

Standard Coverage Options Offered
When you do start looking at your policy you may want to build with G2G you can choose from any of these standard coverage options:
- Liability (both bodily injury and property damage)

- Personal injury protection (PIP) coverage
- Comprehensive coverage
- Collision coverage
- Uninsured/Underinsured motorist coverage
Note: In the illustration above for a 40 y/o driver range from 13% to 33% cheaper than the quote offered by Good2go at $1,488. Progressive is the lowest at $1,002 while Safe Auto offered a quote at $1,300 or 13% lower than G2G’s quote.
Additional Coverage Options
Including the standard coverage options G2G offers:
- Rental Reimbursement
- Towing & Labor Cost
- Sound System
- Vet Bills
Note: A 45 y/o driver can find quotes 8% to 30% lower than the quote offered by G2G at $1,317. Progressive is the cheapest or 30% lower at $924. Safe Auto is 8% lower at $1,211.
Customer Service Top Notch for a Newer Company
Unlike some of the competing big name insurance providers consider customer service an after-thought, Good2Go recognizes the importance of treating their customers right.
That’s why they make customer service their top priority, and aim to process claims as efficiently as possible.
After all, nobody wants to deal with the hassle of waiting after they’ve been involved in a car accident.
When you report a claim with Good2Go, you can take comfort in knowing that a claims adjuster will be in contact with you within 24 hours.
They have an “A” rating on the BBB’s website with 91 complaints. 57 of them have been resolved.
As illustrated, the state average premium for Alabama, Arizona, etc are lower than the average quote offered by Good2go. The percentage difference between average premiums by state are 11% to 20%. Indiana is 11% lower while Georgia is 20% lower.
Good2go Could Be Worth It?
Not sure if you’ll save money on your monthly premium by switching to Good2Go?
With their cost calculator, you can find out just how much you’ll save when you make the switch.
Don’t let your current carrier take advantage of your loyalty by increasing your premium year-after-year.
G2G offers the best prices in the industry while providing unmatched customer service.
Note: As illustrated, I compared 5 different state average quotes with Good2go’s average premium by state. Each time the state average premium price was lower than G2G’s.
Offered in Various States throughout the U.S.
They offer coverage in 16 states which are listed below.
Included in the list is the percentage rate hike over one year. Which is from 4% to 8%. If you get a driving violation during the year your rate hike could be much higher.
I have included the average premium for each of the states which G2G offers coverage. In all instances they are 8% to 35% higher than the state average quote. Which for smaller company like them is not too bad.
Note: Again, I compared the state average with 5 additional states with G2G’s average premium. In all 5 states the average premium was lower when compared to G2G’s average premium.
As of the early part of 2018 they do not offer rideshare coverage for any of the states. I suspect they are working on this since rideshare coverage is more in demand now.
The average consumer satisfaction is 3.49 according to the Better Business Bureau’s website.
They is nothing too shocking in the table for me, except that they rate hike for some states seems pretty high.
Anything near 10% for me is something you definitely want to be aware of. Particularly if your rates are raised when you have a stellar driving record.

List of Discounts Offered to Boost Savings
G2G offers the standard suite of discounts. Below are the 8 advertised on their website.
I have included the standard discount you may receive if you qualify. It is important to note the discounts may not be available in some states where G2G offers coverage.
As you can see the discounts offering the most off your premium price are good driver, defensive, and student driver.
Though they weren’t listed on their website you can probably get a discount for a hybrid/electric vehicle.
Plus group discounts may be offered too such being part of a particular union or corporation, etc.
No matter where you get a policy your best option over the long haul is keep a clean driving record.
A serious driving infraction could easily double your premium.
|1||Good Driver||10 – 35%|
|2||Multi-Car Policy||10 - 25%|
|3||Defensive Driver Course||5 - 25%|
|4||Student Driver||5 – 20%|
|5||Anti-Theft||5 - 15%|
|6||Paid in Full||5 - 10%|
|7||Homeowner||5 - 10%|

Whether you’re looking to save money on your monthly premium, or simply enjoy the peace of mind that comes with great customer service, next time you may want to put Good2Go on your list of quotes to see if they offer you a premium at a lower price.
